What do you mean by gluten-free?
Gluten is a protein found in wheat and other grains such as barley, wheat, rye, and couscous. We replaced wheat with cornflour.
Why did we make our play dough gluten-free?
Most of the playdough in the market contains gluten. Playing with regular play dough can be risky for kids with celiac disease, who can't eat gluten. One of our founder is allergic to gluten herself and know how it feels to miss out on the playdough fun.
We want to create a product that comes the closest to include EVERYONE in the play process including those who might have celiac disease.
What is 'loose-part play'?
Loose parts play is a type of play that uses materials with no specific set of directions that can be used alone or combined with other materials. Children can use this in a hundred different ways during play. Playing with loose-parts supports invention, divergent thinking, problem-solving, and offers a sense of wonder to children. Does your product require any adult supervision?
The simple answer is yes but the kit itself is designed to be easy enough for it to be a child-led activity. Yes we need your supervision on the hot water part and maybe the video part but we'd like to encourage the adults to take the backseat, let the children lead direct, and experiment their own play (safely of course!).
Why is my play dough not binding?
Because we took the gluten out, the play dough will not bind without boiling water. This is why we encourage the kit to be a family activity where everyone takes part and we also encourage you to watch the video instruction before starting even though you might have made playdough before.
How long can I keep my play dough?
The finished product can be kept up to 3 weeks in a sealed container.
Is it ok if my child ate the playdough?
We understand that it's normal for children at a certain age to be putting everything they can find in their mouths. Our playdough is made for a 100% natural ingredient and we made it extra extra salty so in the case that they put it in their mouth they won't like the taste very much and finally spit it out. So yes, it's fine if they eat them but we wouldn't encourage them to do so.
How do you source your playdough ingredients?
We want to make sure that everything in the box is of the highest quality. We source our natural ingredients mainly from www.buywholefoodsonline.com. We want to treat every box as if we're making the playdough with our own kids which is why we've chosen a source that could provide high standard ingredients even though it might cost a little bit more.
